And The Clock Has Stopped.

Boiling. Red. Hot.
Lava is my veins, when I think of you.
Working harder for paper than you’ve ever worked at us.
Bills worth more than any amount of my trust.
But why?

They say you don’t know what you got til it’s gone..
Well mom?
tick tock. Tick tock.

I have realized,
Realized, no matter how loud I scream
What I want you to be is only a dream
Never to be reached,
always seeping through fingers
Like sweat through my pores.

And once again, you leave.
Walk out the door.
Handing me off like some free sample
never to be seen again.
You are gone. Sunshine in the dead of night.

Piece by piece I crumble.
A billion shards of glass I tumble.
How ironic, the one who taught me
Not an option is hate
The only person I see with disdain.
Loathing so strong, it vibrates my core
I am numb. I don’t feel you anymore
And no matter what future promises you make,
What you’ve done will forever be louder
Than anything you say.

And when the fire simmers to a few hot coals,
I start to wonder.
Questions flood my mind,
a river so high that planes float on by
Where did you go? Where have you been?
For all I know you’ve disappeared, dead.
Are you coming home? Will I see you again?
Tick tock. Tick tock.
But you don’t. And I don’t.
And the clock has stopped.

Just a little thing I learned in Personality

Are you the type of person who would jump at the chance to jump out of an airplane? (haha, no pun intended) Or does that make you go into an anxiety attack, you'd rather sit at home with a good book, and a good story isenough adrenaline for you?

I learned in psychology recently a fun fact about extroversion/introversion and how it relates to novetly seeking (doing things that get your adrenaline pumping, like skydiving, bungee jumping, etc.)

There is this theory that every person has this need for homeostasis of their adrenaline level. According to this theory, introverts (those who keep more to themself, and are less outgoing) have naturally a high level of adrenaline, and extroverts (those who are extremely outgoing and would rather be hanging out with alot of people most of the time) have naturally a very low level of adrenaline. But the need for homeostasis of adrenaline calls for the level of adrenaline to stay about in the middle at all times.

Introverts are easily susceptable to adrenaline, the littlest things will give them high amounts of excitement. So while introverts have a very high level, they try to stay away from adrenaline-producing activites, which could be anything from simply going to a party or to a social event, to rollercoasters and the like. It is to much excitement for them to bear. They stay away from these sorts of activities in hopes that their adrenaline level will decrease.

Extroverts, on the other hand, need much more adrenaline to keep their inner level, level. Some of the activities that would be much to much to bear for introverts, still aren't enough. And because it's not very often that an extrovert can get enough adrenaline, they shoot for extremely high adrenaline pumping activities, so as to spike they're level way up so that it will be enough until they can spike it up again.

I found this very interesting, and was able to apply it to many people in my life. Such as, one of my friends keeps to herself for the most part, (so she is an introvert) and would never do anything like swim with sharks, go on rollercoasters, or go skydiving. Another friend, is extremely loud and always surrounded by people, and always expresses how much she wants to do crazy things, especially swim with sharks, skydive, and go white water rafting.

The meaning of life?

Have you ever though, ya know, what is the meaning to life? Like.. we're all just people. And technically the purpose of our life is to have children and raise them so that they can have children. And that's it. And that's all.

But I had a thought the other day. What if the meaning of life, is just to find happiness? What if you're supposed to strive for happiness in your life, to come to a point where you know pure happiness.

Which would make sense of the fact that there has to be sadness in life. Because you can't know pure happiness, if you don't know sadness.

Idk, maybe I'm very wrong. It was just a thought.

:)

Did you know that 99 % of the human genome is exactly the same among all humans? That means 99 percent of your genes, you share with every single other person on this planet. It is only 1 % of you're genes that make up every single one of your unique differences. (So like skin color, hair color, nose type, shape of your eyes, face, body, the flexibility of your fingers, etc...)

Fun Fact 2.

A yin yang symbolizes complete opposites. Left and Right. Up and Down. In and Out. It's a symbol of the importance of balance among all things, without one there can't be the other.

Fun Fact 1.

We wear our wedding rings on our fourth finger of our left hand because its the only finger that has an artery that leads to the heart <3

A Horrible Driver? ... or Saving Your Life.

A professor said something to my class the other day that really stuck out in my mind.

Think about those times when a driver cuts you off, or when someone is driving just a little too slow. And you curse at them and give them friendly finger signs.

Now what about when you are late and need to get somewhere fast. Or when you loose attention for a second and you're perfect driving skills slip. Then it's perfectly reasonable and those other people flipping you off just have something stuck up their ass.

But what we don't think about, is this. What if that person who cut you off or slows you down, is the reason that you just barely miss a fatal car crash that you would have had other wise.

So next time you encounter a frustrating driver, stop and think, should you be cursing them, or possibly thanking them.
